The Flap 40 is a more rigid alternative to the Flap 30 well suited to divers around 200lbs and well-trained freedivers and spearfisherman who need a strong push provided by a stiffer blade from the depths. The advantage over the C4 Flap is reported by C4 to be a 15% increase in performance over the Falcon.

The Flap fins have an overall length slightly longer than the Falcon fins, 780mm compared to 760mm of the Falcon (less than 1 inch). A diver can therefore expend the same amount of energy for a more efficient return of power and thrust.

The water channels down the face of the blade and the Flap increases propulsion by increasing blade surface and the flow of the water over the blade through the tip. In our opinion the Flap may be a more efficient fin but it’s not for everyone. We feel the “Flap” protruding from the front of the blade could be a virtue for an open water diver and a disadvantage for divers prone to hitting the bottom of their fins on the sea floor. The ends of the Falcon are arched inward in comparison and offer more protection to the tip of the carbon blades.  Two year Guarantee.
